why your body is screaming

Sometimes a pause is protection. Listen to that.

You don't need to earn rest. You deserve to have time when you're not being productive. You deserve to play. It's not wasted time and it's not selfish! Rest is about protecting your energy and increasing your capacity.

Burnout, feeling stuck, getting sick… these are just a few of the ways your body is screaming at you, "I need a fucking break, woman!!" I know you've heard her. She sounds exactly like you and you're in a bad habit of putting her shit aside for a more appropriate time. Right? What the…? She is YOU!! And YOU are the expert of you, so why aren't you listening to her??

Getting sick or pausing for a while means that is where you're supposed to be right now. Your body and/or mind is telling you to stop. Give yourself time to reset and recharge. You just have to do it, ladies!! Get in THAT habit, listening to your internal voice. She's very smart!!

Think about this… your nervous system, which includes your body and mind, NEEDS time to be still. Today's culture has us constantly stimulated, playing all the roles we subscribe to. Our bodies and minds are connected!! When one of them is screaming, allow them time to collectively pause. Even if it's just a couple minutes to close your eyes and breathe. Take it! Resting allows you to hone in on what truly matters, so you know where your energy needs to be focused once you get going again. You'll be amazed what you can achieve with some clarity.

What will you do differently the next time you hear your body screaming at you?
